Visit to Cadarache ITER Center, Wednesday

Cadarache is an Atomic Energy Commission
research center where some 4,100 people
are involved in various R&D platforms,
essentially devoted to nuclear energy (fission
and fusion), but also to new energy technologies
and studies of the effects of radiation
on plant life (plant physiology, microbiology
and ecology). The Center hosts the main
part of French fusion research, including
the world's largest superconducting tokamak
(Tore Supra).
The ITER site is located close to the Cadarache
Center. The visit on the morning of December
12 will include the ITER site, Tore Supra
and a view of the main R&D platforms.
